Vegan dog treats?? Even though it sounds confusing for our carnivore friends, these treats are a great way to incorporate new ingredients into your dog's diet.
1 ½cupsfloursuch as whole wheat, almond, coconut, or chickpea
2ripe bananas
¼cuppeanut butteruse a peanut that does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs
Instructions
Prep: Preheat oven to 300°F (148°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix: In a large bowl, stir together all ingredients until mixture forms a cohesive dough (add a splash of water if needed to help the dough form). Knead dough for 5 minutes to develop the gluten (creating chewier treats).
Shape: Roll dough out to be about ¼ inch thick. Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut dough, transferring each bone onto your prepared parchment-lined baking sheet.* Continue until all dough is used.
Bake: Bake on the middle rack for 25 to 30 minutes, or until dog biscuits are crispy. They'll continue to harden as they cool.
